Maui, Hawaii Days 1-8
As I sit here typing this I’m missing the warm sunshine terribly. A week just isn’t enough time in Hawaii, there is too much relaxing to do. Hawaii is probably one of my favourite places to relax. We were in Oahu in August with my family and we had the privilege of travelling to Maui to meet up with the boyfriends parent’s over reading week! I’ve never really gone anywhere over reading week so this was definitely a nice break!
Our flight was delayed on the way out by three hours, which sucked but once we got there I couldn’t have been happier.
We soaked up as much sun as we possibly could, and I even managed to get a nasty case of heat rash on my body. So much for the white Canadian girl travelling to the +30 weather in the midst of winter.
We travelled out into the ocean to whale watch, which I was in love with – I have and always will be in love with sea creatures.
We toured around the island checking out the beautiful lavender farm, goat farm and winery. The first two were lovely, the third, not so much … I’m really not a fan of sweet wine and that’s all they had. We played with baby goats at the goat farm which was adorable, there is a video on my instagram – check it out!
We went out for dinner with his parent’s on Valentine’s day, which made me incredibly happy as we were surrounded by so much love!
Long walks on the beach, watching the sunsets together, and reading by the pool, this vacation couldn’t have gotten any better!
We came back feeling rested and recharged… that is after we recovered from our red-eye flight home!
