Europe 2014: Travel plans

Posted by Janine Rogan on February 28, 2014 in Wanderlust | 6 Comments

A year ago the boyfriend and I had never been on a flight together. Within 365 we will have taken four international vacations together and I couldn’t be happier to have found a person (my best friend) that enjoys and values travel as much as I do. We agree on almost everything when we are travelling to new and exciting places which I couldn’t be happier about. I’m excited to reveal to you our travel plans for the rest of 2014 – you guessed it; we’re going to Europe.

The unfortunate thing is that the boyfriend can only stay with me for the first few weeks as he has to head back to work on his designation. Boo!  Since this is the last summer I’ll have off … ever… I decided (after scrutinizing for months) that I would stay a few more weeks. My mom has decided that she is coming over for two of those weeks for some much needed mother-daughter-bonding. I couldn’t be more thrilled!

So without further adieu, here’s where we are at… I left out the dates we are travelling because… well you know, it’s the internet:

So there it is! We (the boyfriend and I) will be jet-setting off to explore Iceland, London, Paris and a few other southern areas in France and then my mother and I are off to Croatia and Italy. After that, I’m finishing my trip in Vienna and Zurich. I’m so excited, I love exploring new cities! I’ll be gone for 40 days, which is the longest I’ve ever been away from home. I feel like I keep repeating myself, but I’m so excited for this chapter of my life. I feel like I need to explore a little before I settle down into full-time work in September.

I’ll keep you posted on the budget in a post in the future!

  • Woo!! Enjoy the trip! I love Europe so much 🙂

    • I am in love with it as well! It’s been 6 years since I’ve been there, can’t wait to go back!

  • Wow! That’s a big trip Janine! Sounds amazing, so many great cities!

    • I’m sooooo excited! I wish I could stay all summer and just travel everywhere, unfortunately money is the limiting factor!

  • It’s coming! I’m so excited for you! How did you get your itinerary and how set is it? I’m thinking that you’ll definitely want to spend more time in Rome and a bit less in Vienna. Also, no Germany??

    • Ya I’m still fiddling with 5 days in Vienna, may head off to Prague. I don’t have time for Germany on this trip, there is too much to see there… don’t worry though I’ll be back in Europe soon!
