Buying glasses doesn’t have to be expensive

I don’t know if any of you have noticed but glasses are really expensive! I’m very fortunate in that my parents have always had amazing health care plans that have covered 100% of my medical expenses. I am able to get a new pair of glasses (up to $400 in value) every two years. Since I’ve just started wearing glasses in the past couple years (just for reading) I’ve been able to purchase 2 pairs, both exceeding $400, only by a few dollars though.

My most recent pair was of course a pair of Tiffany’s glasses coming to a grand total of $434 including tax.

Glasses are becoming more and more of a fashion statement with tons of different colors and frames! So here are two places you can buy glasses online for a lot cheaper than an optometrists office and I would argue they are just as nice!

Clearlycontacts.com

Clearly contacts offers a ton of different types of glasses and they actually have a promotion for new customers until the end of April that entitles them to a free pair of glasses (they of course have to pay shipping). Not all of the glasses count towards the free pair but it’s still a fantastic deal! Clearly contacts also offers designer brands for cheap!

Zennioptical.com

Zenni Optical is a little cheaper than Clearly Contacts with glasses dropping down to about $15 per pair. They have a fantastic selection and tons of colors to play around with!

Buying glasses doesn’t have to be expensive if you scope out other options! If you aren’t covered by health insurance or your plan isn’t great both of these online retailers are great options for getting glasses on a budget!

  1. This is very applicable as I am looking to purchase some cheap glasses for those days I wanna give my eyes a rest, am sick, or simply lazy.

    • Glad to hear! I can’t stand how expensive glasses are….I think they are such a cute accessory but I’m not willing to pay $400 out of pocket for them
